Fall 2021
architecture
In Fall of 2021 I had the opportunity to participate in Gulf Coast Design Lab at The University of Texas School of Architecture. Led by Coleman Coker, this design-build studio takes place over an entire semester and involves creating some sort of outdoor architecture for a non-profit organization in and around the Gulf Coast of Texas. During the semester I participated, we created an outdoor classroom for the Crenshaw School of Environmental Studies located near Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula
My main contribution to this project was doing a bulk of the BIM work and contributing my share of physical labor to construct the pavilion. The BIM work was very important in a project like this, since all we had access to ion the field was the paper drawing set that I created. Any missing dimensions ot information meant possible errors or guess work. I really enjoyed this process and being so close to the actual creation of the architecture that we designed.
