Playing Music with KUKA Robots

One of the products of my research that I am most proud of is the open-source KUKA robot arm control software written in Python. This tool is called KUKApython and is available on github. This tool is meant to compliment the most popular KUKA control tool for architecture, KUKA|PRC.

To demonstrate the flexibility and power of KUKApython, I wrote a script that converts a MIDI music file into instructions for The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture’s robot named HAL to play on a small xylophone.
